Hi, friend. I’m Amanda.

I’m the artist, designer, and person behind A Time As This.

I’m also a wife, mom, follower of Jesus, homebody, lover of old things, and someone who has approximately 47 creative ideas at any given moment.

I love flowers, paper, notebooks, wandering through antique + thrift stores, and creating things with my hands. My personal style probably falls somewhere between vintage homebody, botanical garden, and yeehaw meemaw. But A Time As This has become about so much more to me than simply making pretty things. The last few years have been hard in ways I didn't expect.

I've struggled with my mental health. I've walked through two concussions in two years. I've had seasons where life felt heavier than I knew how to carry and God began changing me. I go to therapy, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I've learned that sometimes healing looks like prayer and opening my Bible, and sometimes it looks like sitting across from someone who helps you untangle what you've been carrying.

More than anything, though, these years have shown me how desperately I need Jesus. Not a polished version of faith. Not having all the right answers, just Jesus. He has met me in hard places. He has carried me, changed me, and brought healing into places in my life.

I also know that everyone's story is different. Healing doesn't always happen in the way we pray for or on the timeline we desperately want, and I don't pretend to understand all the reasons suffering is part of our stories. I just know what He has done in mine. I am not the same. And He is the reason. That's why I'm going all in for Jesus. Not because my life is suddenly perfect. It isn't, but this is what I know I need to do now.

Another thing these years have taught me is how much we need people. We need the friend who checks in. The person who sits beside us when there isn't anything to fix. The people who pray for us, make us laugh, bring dinner, remind us what is true, celebrate the beautiful things with us, and stay when things aren't beautiful at all. We need God. And we need each other.

A Time As This is here to be a place that reminds you to pay attention to the life God has already given you. To know that you aren't alone. To remember that the hard season you're walking through isn't your whole story. To look around and notice that even here, even in the ordinary and the unfinished, there is still goodness.

The name A Time As This was inspired by Esther 4:14 and this beautiful idea that has stayed with me for years: God has intentionally placed us here. You were created on purpose for a purpose.

In this time. With these people. With these gifts. With this life. There is no one else with your exact combination of story, gifts, relationships, experiences, opportunities, and people to love.

And I've realized that I don't want to spend my life constantly rushing toward the next thing anymore. I want to be here. I want to faithfully live the life God has given me. I want to grow in my faith. Use the gifts He's placed in my hands. Love my people well. Create beautiful things. Encourage someone who needs it. Sit around the table longer. Pay attention to the flowers growing outside. And notice His goodness in the middle of ordinary Tuesdays.

That's what A Time As This is becoming.

A shop filled with things I make and thoughtfully choose. Encouragement that shows up in your actual mailbox. A place to create together. And hopefully, a little corner that reminds you to slow down, look to Jesus, and faithfully live the life He's given you.

Grow in faith. Use your gifts. Love your people. Notice His goodness.

With so much love, Amanda
